The "haramaki" armor, shown in the photo, is the simplified version of the "domaru" armor.

It is small in size originally.

There is a joint in the center of the back.

It does not protect the back.

However, afterwards, a piece of protector for the back was made.

The piece was named "seita" (=back board) or "okubyo-no-ita" (=coward board).

The "kusazuri" protector usually consists of seven pieces and small sleeves called "tsubo-sode (=pot-like sleeve)" are attached to it.

Many remains are what was built after the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties (1336-92), and there are no remains before that.

The figure in the photo wears a "kawatsutsumi (=leather cover)" sword and an armor, assebled with scattered "odoshi" strings in "sugake" technique in Muromachi era (1333-1568).

The figure also wears a "samurai-eboshi" headgear, "kote" protectors, "suneate" protectors,"habaki" warmers, a pair of leather tabi socks, and "ashinaka (=half foot)" straw sandals.

It has a "kawa-tsutsumi" long sword.

The "gyoyo" protectors was attached to the thing of the second half although "gyoyo" protectors was not attached to early "haramaki" armor.

Moreover, a "haijun" which protects the knees came to be used from these days.
